Abstract
Since Korea Food and Drug Administration and The Ministry of Health-Welfare published guidelinefor its recommendations on issues related to patient radiation dose from CT X-ray to reduce patientdose in 2009, it has been followed up. As a result of this effort, recently many hospital has been buildingup dose monitoring system to collect and manage radiation dose systematically. In case CT whichis installed and used in hospital does support dose report by structured report, it is easy to providedose report to dose monitoring system. However It is very hard to integrate radiation dose from CT installedor manufactured before DICOM SR requirements containing dose report was released, whichwas defined by DICOM Standard Committee into dose monitoring system so that this makes it difficultto comply with guideline for diagnostic reference level. Therefore this report contains the experienceon integrating the value of DLP (Dose Length product) from CT installed in radiology department ofuniversity hospital of Seoul into dose monitoring system by using Optical Character Recognition technology.
